Back to School Immunizations
It’s that time of year again. Along with buying back-to-school supplies, parents are reminded to get their children the immunizations necessary for school. San Juan Basin Health Department is conducting Back-to-School Immunizations Days on Tuesday, August 14th and Wednesday August 15th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Parents need to make an appointment by calling 335-2013.
Immunizations are an important part of our children’s health care and Colorado law requires that children going to school be vaccinated to prevent vaccine preventable disease.
San Juan Basin Health asks for a minimal fee of $14.70 per immunization to cover costs of administering the vaccination. Otherwise, the vaccine is provided free thanks to the federally funded Vaccines for Children program. If a family cannot afford to pay, we will still provide the necessary immunizations. Please bring your child’s immunization record to your appointment.
