International Travel

San Juan Basin Health Department provides immunizations for international travelers by appointment. Please schedule appointment 6 to 8 weeks prior to travel by calling 335-2013.  Please review the Travel Immunization Factsheet for available vaccines and prices. You can visit TripPrep.com to look at vaccine recommendations and other important travel information. We accept credit cards, cash or checks and will bill RMHMO insurance. A receipt is provided for you to submit a claim to all other insurance. 

Appointments consist of reviewing traveler's immunization history, destination health risk report and vaccination recommendations, as well administration of vaccinations. Malaria risk is discussed with appropriate guidance for securing a prescription for anti-malarial medications from your local physician.  A yellow “International Certificate of Vaccination” is issued at time of vaccinations.

Travel Health consultation fees are $75 for one person, $100 for two, and $50 for each additional person at time of appointment.  Please bring your vaccination records to your appointment.

Japanese Encephalitis (2 dose series for ages ≥ 17 and older) $250/each

Typhoid - oral-capsules (live attenuated; ages 6 & up) $85

Typhoid - injectible (inactivated) (ages 2 and up) $85

Yellow Fever (live virus vaccine not for individuals with serious egg allergies)- $135  NOTE: individuals age 60 and older need to discuss this vaccination with their physician prio to travel appointment with San Juan Basin Health.

Meningicoccal, Menomune (Meningitis) primarily for ages over 55 - $150

Meningicoccal, Menactra (Meningitis) (licensed for ages 2 to 55) - $130 (or $14.70 if 11-18 years old)

MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella (two doses recommended for most destinations) $70

*Tetanus booster (Tetanus, diphtheria, acellular Pertussis -TdaP now lic. for ages ≥ 7) - $14.70

Pneumococcal (routinely given at ≥age 65; also chronic underlying risks) $75

Polio (inactivated – one adult dose, in addition to childhood series, for some destinations) - $75

*Hepatitis A (2 shot series; one dose before travel and one dose 6-12 mo later) - $50 each

*Hepatitis B (3 shot series; day 0, day 30 and day 180) - $50 each

*Twinrix (combination Hepatitis A & B, 3 shot series; day 0, day 30, and day 180) - $65 each

Rabies (3 shot series; day 0, day 7 and then day 21 or 28) - $230 each

*Varicella (aka Chickenpox – for adults two doses given one month apart) $90 each

Shingles (licensed for ages ≥ 50) $185

TB Skin Test (available either pre or post travel (10-12 weeks after trip) to high risk areas) $30
