Obtaining a Death Certificate
Death certificates are confidential and can only be given to blood relatives.
Death certificates can be released to: the mother, father, children, brother/sister, ex-spouse for Social Security benefits, or the title company - if they have a letter stating the document will stay confidential.
NOTE: Death certificates are issued only in the county in which the death occurred.
