Youth Programs:
Youth and Schools Tobacco Prevention: Increasing opportunities and encouraging partnerships with La Plata County schools and community organizations to:
- reduce the initiation of tobacco use among young people
- increase the capacity for youth cessation programs & services
- encourage the role of youth coalitions in peer advocacy and tobacco prevention

Youth Websites:
“Own Your C” is a website for teens that focuses on helping them taking responsibility for their own choices and making healthy choices in their world. It is a youth tobacco prevention and cessation media campaign, sponsored by the State Tobacco Education and Prevention Partnership (STEPP).
Cessation:
FixNixer is a free, anonymous and customized program that puts you in control of your quit plan and helps you quit smoking or chewing tobacco in just 21 days. With a little input from you, the FixNixer will create a personalized program that carves out your best path to quitting and gives you all the support you need to get there, including tips and tools that help you get ready for your quit date, a community forum, your own online QuitBlog, and even personalized text messages that help you stay strong when you’re feeling the urge to give up. You can also get free coaching and nicotine patches by calling the Colorado Quitline at 1-800-QUIT-NOW. There's an online option, too - visit the Colorado Quitline website for great online tools and support.

Secondhand Smoke:
Providing information and resources to reinforce the importance of smoke-free work, living, and social environments in our communities. The Colorado Clean Indoor Air Act protects the health of both the public and employees by reducing their exposure to secondhand smoke. The law creates a safer and healthier environment for employees, families and people statewide to enjoy Colorado’s restaurants, bars and other indoor establishments.

Lasso Tobacco Coalition:
The Lasso Tobacco Coalition (LTC) has served La Plata County for over 10 years. It is made up of community members and holds quarterly meetings which are open to the public. New members are always welcome.
