The Women's Infants and Children's Nutrition Program (WIC) provides education about nutrition and breastfeeding as well as vouchers to purchase specific nutritious foods for eligible women and children. Eligibility is based on nutritional need and income.

Purpose of WIC
The purpose of the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) is to promote and maintain the health and well-being of participants. Those who are eligible include pregnant women, breast feeding women up to 1 year after delivery, non-breast feeding women up to 6 months after delivery, infants, and children up to age 5 yrs. WIC provides supplemental nutritious foods, nutrition and breastfeeding information, and referral to other health and nutrition services. WIC promotes and supports breastfeeding. For more information
