Your First Visit

What to expect on your first visit to WIC

• Your first WIC visit will last approximately one to two hours.
• Your identification, physical address and income documents will be reviewed.
• A WIC professional will screen you and your children for height, weight, and Hemoglobin (finger sticks to check your blood for anemia).
• The WIC professional will also review your nutrition questionnaire and diet history forms and provide appropriate nutrition education and referrals.
• You will receive WIC checks to use that day at your local grocery store to purchase specific nutritious foods.
