Southwest Smile Makers Dental Program
Southwest Smile Makers is a dental program of San Juan Basin Health Department. Founded in 2002, the clinic serves the 5-county area, providing preventive dental services for Medicaid-eligible children 0-21 years and pregnant women. Services include screening, cleaning, fluoride treatment, and sealants. Each school year, Southwest Smile Makers provides these services at all the Durango 9R and Cortez elementary schools.
Dental services provided at the Southwest Smile Makers dental office include: teeth cleaning, fluoride treatment to strengthen teeth, sealants on molars to protect against cavities,fill cavities, limited emergency care; and hygiene education covers brushing, flossing, preventing periodontal disease.
The Durango clinic is located in The Commons Building at 701 Camino del Rio (by Albertson's).
